Information on submitting work to be considered for exhibition at Frames Gallery

We work closely with a large group of artists and exhibit work by individuals from this group on an annual or a bi-annual basis.  This group provides the basis of our annual exhibition programme.

However, we do also exhibit work by artists who are new to us.  Regarding this, every year we aim to attend the following exhibitions:

Degree Shows at:
Edinburgh College of Art
Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art
Gray's School of Art
Glasgow School of Art
Moray School of Art

Leith School of Art (painting course)

Annual 'open' exhibitions at the:
Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW)
Royal Scottish Academy (RSA)

Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts (RGI)
Aberdeen Artists Society (AAS)
Paisley Arts Institute (PAI)
Visual Arts Scotland (VAS)
Society of Scottish Artists (SSA)

Open Studio Events:
Wasps

Coburg House Studios
Perthshire Open Studios

At these events we actively look for new artists to exhibit, either for our Perth gallery premises or for art fairs, which we attend throughout the year.  We would advise that the best way to have your work considered for exhibition is to participate in one of the above events.  Open Studios events run throughout Scotland and do not generally involve a selection process.  The society exhibitions are open for all artists (although some are medium-specific) and will take work to be selected for the exhibition on particular days at a particular location.  Some societies will post this information their website, others will need to add your name to a mailing list, from which they will post the information to you.

This raft of opportunities to 'get work out there', combined with the fact that we often work with artists with whom we have worked before, means that our exhibition programme fills up quite quickly.  As a result, we tend not to encourage gallery visits from artists looking to show us their work.  In the first instance, we would prefer to have something posted or emailed to us.  For posting or emailing images, please include details of size, medium and price.  Also include a biography/CV with information about yourself, including an artist statement about your work, and a list of any exhibitions you have had work included in.  Send these to:
