Philip Edwards and the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2016

Have you been watching Philip Edwards on the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2016?

Have you been watching Philip Edwards on the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2016?
We have of course.
Last night, having won his heat at Stowe, he was one of 7 semi-finalists painting at Margate.
As soon as I heard “Margate” I did think that this would not really suit Phil. And I was correct.
Taking to him after the filming he did say that it was way too sunny to suit him and he could never quite get into the “zone” as he likes to call it.
Despite the piece that he produced being very lovely it wasn’t enough to get into the final. So ends his time in the competition.
Nevertheless, he has been working away since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art and he intends to keep doing it.
We were given nine new pieces last week and they have all been sold.
