Although I was lucky enough to have a classical training at art school in Florence, and spent the next years doing portrait commissions, I always felt dissatisfied with the restrictions of representational drawing and painting. Once I was introduced to the visual language of abstract art there was no turning back. My work now explores the abstract relationships between colour, shape and mark inspired by both interior and exterior spaces, and ultimately hopes to convey my emotional response to the subjects.
