Artist’s Statement

Anne's work is concerned with the fragments of memories and images which remain in our minds, long after the experience has passed. Half remembered – Half forgotten.
Anne aims to evoke a sense of time or place through her practice and is inspired by a variety of themes, including the beautiful city of Venice, and the ever changing natural environment of Scotland.
Anne develops her ideas from observation and interprets them using a variety of methods, styles and disciplines.   Her aim is to capture the essence of the subject or capture a fleeting moment in time.

About the Artist

Dundee based artist Anne Skinner RSW is a Drawing and Painting graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art where she studied Drawing and Painting under highly respected Scottish artists Alberto Morocco, Jack Knox and David McClure.
Anne worked in further education as a lecturer in the fine art department at Dundee College teaching a wide variety of art and design subjects as well as continuing her practice as a visual artist. 
Throughout her career Anne has been an exhibitor at major open exhibitions including RSW, RSA, VAS, and RGI,and has exhibited widely in the UK as well as internationally.
