Ian M. Scott
Ian specialised in Drawing and Painting at Glasgow School of Art in the heady days of the mid nineteen sixties. A career in education followed - ten years living on the Isle of Bute before coming to Perth in 1978.His early life in the village of Clachaig in the hills of Cowal in Argyll established a life long involvement with en plein air painting.
He has had a long association with Frames Gallery with a number of solo shows over several decades. He is best known for his atmospheric acrylics from the Isle of Bute and contrasting works in watercolour of the fields and woods surrounding Colenden where he lives close to the river Tay.
Ian celebrated his 80th birthday in July 2023 with an exhibition " En Plein Air " at the Fire Station Creative in Dunfermline.
