Jane Cruickshank and Nerine Tassie

7th September - 5th October

This  exhibition features the work of two very talented but different artists, Jane Cruickshank and Nerine Tassie. Jane graduated from Gray’s school of Art in 1999 and not ;long after that came to workin the gallery. During that time she had several solo exhibitions and developed her distinctive still life painting style. At first look it appears like a Dutch Still life with the same immaculate technique but there is an aesthetic and compositional quality which is definitely contemporary in feel.
Since leaving the gallery, Jane has got married and now has children, and consequently her output was very much reduced, but she has been back in the studio for some time now and we are delighted to be able to be showing 13 of her new works all of which feature silver. A current Fascination of Jane’s

Nerine graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2002 and has also been a long-time exhibitor in the gallery with solo exhibitions as well as taking part in mixed shows. Nerine is a landscape and seascape painter who loves to explore the woodlands and coastal waters around where she used to live. These are incredibly atmospheric places and Nerine uses different techniques to capture that very elusive feeling.
In 2015, as a result of winning the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year. she gave up full-time teaching to become a full-time painter.
