
Alexander Robb
Born Kirkwall Orkney, 1950
Studied Glasgow School of Art 1968-1972. Taught art in Stirling 1974-1978. Moved to Dumfriesshire in 1978. Worked full-time as a Primary School Art Specialist then changed to part-time teaching in 1989.
Finally gave up teaching completely in 2007 in order to concentrate more fully on painting.
Regular exhibitor in Royal Scottish Academy (R.S.A.), Royal Glasgow Institute (R.G.I.), Visual Arts Scotland (V.A.S.), (Professional member of V.A.S. since 1994), and Paisley Art Institute (P.A.I.) (Professional member of P.A.I. since 2003).
Also exhibited in Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (R.S.W.), the Society of Scottish Artists (S.S.A.), the Morrison Portrait Competition, the Laing Landscape Competition, the Paisley Drawing Competition and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in the Mall Galleries London.
One-man Exhibitions:- McGill Duncan Gallery Castle Douglas, The Ottersburn Gallery Dumfries, Gracefield Arts Centre Dumfries, Designs Gallery Castle Douglas, High Street Gallery Kirkcudbright, Gatehouse Gallery Glasgow and the Randolph Gallery Edinburgh.
Two and three man shows:- Gatehouse Gallery Glasgow, the Courtyard Gallery Crail, the Clachanmore Gallery Stranraer.
