A Break From The Grind by artist Charlie Parsons

Charlie Parsons

Growing up among the hills and lochs of northwest Scotland has had a lasting influence on Charlie Parsons’ artistic vision. The drama and beauty of the Scottish landscape continue to shape his work, both in subject and in spirit.

Although paint was always part of his practice, it was during his studies at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design that Charlie developed a focus on digital illustration. This period led to the creation of Summon Portraits, a project dedicated to producing imaginative and fantastical digital portraiture that pushed the boundaries between realism and fantasy.

Nearly a decade after graduating, Charlie has returned to oil painting with renewed energy and a distinctive approach to colour and composition. His recent work brings the same sense of imagination to the more traditional medium of oils, reinterpreting the familiar landscapes of Scotland through a bold and contemporary lens.

Based in his studio in Carnoustie, on Scotland’s east coast, Charlie exhibits his work regularly across the country, with recent shows in Edinburgh, Dundee, and The Highlands.
