Josie McConnell
After graduating from Edinburgh and Cambridge, Josie worked for many years as a research biologist in Cambridge and London. However, she always hankered after Scotland and relocated to Edinburgh in 2009 to become a landscape painter. Currently, she spends time on location discovering the individual characteristics of a place, before trying to evoke specific landscapes through colour, line and light in the studio. She sees her work as a palimpsest of memories, experiences and emotions.
Since returning to Scotland has attended courses at Edinburgh College of art, Leith School of Art and Paintbox School of Art. Since 2015 she has worked from Coburg House Art Studios.
