“My influences are particularly from the late medieval/early renaissance painters, especially the Flemish artists, who worked under commission, but remarkably retained a huge individuality in their vision. Inspiration is drawn from my everyday encounters, and is translated into narrative pieces, with elements of myth and story-telling. The imagery is often sparked around birds and animals, which have been a lifelong thrill, often 'making the day' by their presence. I work mostly with natural gesso panels, acrylics and gold leaf.
