Lindsay Turk
A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Lindsay Turk lives and works in Perthshire. Her work shows a pre-occupation with the repetitions, rhythms and cycles within the natural world. Often painting in series and working on various themes, her work is underpinned by a consistent attraction to capturing the light and atmosphere of a single moment or a particular place. Lindsay delights in the small shifts and subtle changes in light and movement within nature: things governed by external elements such as weather, gravity, passing seasons and the cycles of life. Exploration of these themes has created a strong sense of depth within the work, work that can be described as simultaneously intimate and monumental. Her paintings often give solidity and a sense of permanence to fleeting moments and to the subtleties of nature that are frequently overlooked.
