Masha Tiplady

Masha Tiplady is an Edinburgh-based fine art printmaker and founder of “Masha and the prints”. She grew up in Moscow and moved to Scotland  20 years ago to complete her Master’s degree.

Masha is a self-taught printmaker. Before becoming a self-employed artist she spent quarter of a century gaining 3 non-creative degrees and doing a variety of office-based  jobs.
She discovered linocut by pure chance, while she was looking for things to help her cope with post-natal anxiety, following the birth of her baby daughter. Linocut was love from the first sight and what started as a hobby/art therapy quickly became Masha’s happy place, passion and full-time occupation.

Masha works from her home studio and makes all of her prints using traditional printmaking techniques.
Masha is an active member of Edinburgh Printmakers studios, where she continues to learn and develop various printmaking techniques, such as intaglio and lithography.
She also regularly runs linocut workshops for beginners and people wishing to refresh their printmaking skills.
